Miners and police clash in Romania
ROMANIA: Bucharest:
Miners leave Bucharest by train,defeated after heavy fighting with riot police overnight; Ion Iliescu, the Romanian President said he sympathized with the miners complaints of redundancy and rising costs of food. However Riot police fire tear gas at demonstrators; this time they were not miners but just ordinary people listening to anti-government speeches.
