It seems so funny now as I was working at the time at Colt Ventilation and Heating in Surbiton where it all took off, and our department were responsible for the advertising sending out the stickers etc. The firm did very well because of it and we earned a bonus for the increase in profits. The clock by the way on the front of the building was manually put back half an hour to 8.30 I know because I arrived as usual at 9 oclock where the television cameras were waiting to film us. Am I cynical? yes I was a 17 year old who was caught up in it all and it was amazing meeting Harold Wilson who came to visit, and I will always remember it.
