Foreign secretary Harold MacMillan’s speech on nuclear war
General view lunch in progress;
Foreign Secretary Harold MacMillan speech -
- We are approaching a point when no power, however great,
can hope to win a war. In nuclear war, once this saturation
point is reached there can be no victor. There can only be
mutual and universal destruction.....But in essence I was

means and is known to mean the total destruction of both
sides, however great and powerful, involving perhaps the
destruction of all mankind"
