London: Dr. Hastings Banda invtw by Richard Dixon after
his walkout from Central African Federation Conference:(very
angry): would not listen to nonsense: Sir Edgar (Whitehead) was
sidetracking issue, putting red herring across trail: the issue is
political not social or economic: annoyed because Sir Edgar was
posing as Father Xmas to Nyasaland: nonsense to say people of
Nyasaland would suffer most if Federation broke up: "I hate to
hear such nausiating hypocrasy: it was politcal they did not want
African state: he only came because of Mr (Iain) Macleod: it was
just repeating the same trash: he does not have time to waste: his
people want him back home: if Whitehead is a real friend why are
Africans in prison: (extremly angry): not prepared to listen to
him pontificating.
