Newsplayer is a web and mobile based service providing newsreel footage spanning the last 100 years. Having acquired a license of material from the libraries of ITN, Reuters, Paramount, Gaumont, British Empire News, Visnews and French Pathe, Newsplayer allows its users to browse and search it’s on-line digital archives featuring video news footage from 1896 to the present day and stream any of the 14,000 video clips on request.
The Newsplayer library includes footage of some of the most significant events of the 20th Century relating to science, war, politics, technology, cinema, music, sports, the environment, industry, wildlife, weather, fashion, travel, medicine and crime covering 130 countries Worldwide.
The digitized, intelligent database enables users to search and retrieve individual clips by keyword, topic or timeline.
Newsplayer launches January 09. The company is currently busy forming strategic alliances with media and technology partners around the world, alongside it’s current license with ITN and Reuters which allows Newsplayer ongoing access to new material throughout the life of their contracts.
