War in Bosnia 1995
In Bosnia the war continued in 1995. In July General Ratko Mladic’s Seb troops occupied the UN safe-area of Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia and killed approximately 8,000 men. During the summer, the Croatian Army established authority among the Serb-held territories in Croatia.
In August the Croatian Army and Bosnian government forces retook the Krajina region, which had been controlled by separatist Serbs since early 1991. On August 28th separatist Serbs attacked the Markale in Sarajevo with mortars killing 37 people. In September NATO responded with air strikes against the Bosnian Serb infrastructure.
