Truman Escapes Assassination, 1950
The nation and the world are shocked by the assassination attempt on President Truman's life at Blair House. Two Puerto Rican revolutionists fight it out with three guards, with one rebel slain and one police guard playing with his life.
The attempt is tied up with the abortive revolution in Puerto Rico. Minutes after the shooting, Mr Truman leaves Blair House to take part in the ceremony at Arlington honouring the late Sir John Dill, British Field Marshall.
