The Stars Of Star Wars
The Star Wars trilogy was George Lucas’ brainchild. Shot over a period of three years, the first Star Wars movie was released in 1977 to critical and popular acclaim. The millions of dollars earned in box office receipts and merchandise sales were unprecedented.
Two sequels - The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi - have been followed up with a series of prequels; the first of which, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, was released in 1999. Many of the series; characters -Hans Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, C3PO, Darth Vadar and Obi-Wan Kenobi - have all built up cult followings.
