The Addams Family and Friends
The illustrious Charles Addams, creator of The Addams Family, published his first comic strip of the oddball family in 1937.
In 1964 the ABC network created a TV series, which ran from 1964 to 1966, and a Hanna Barbera animated version was shown from 1973. The film version of the series came to screens in 1991 starring Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia. Charles or 'Chill' Addams, had always been attracted by the sinister as a child. It is thought that the inspiration for the series came from a cemetery and houses near his home in Westfield, New Jersey.
