Crisis in Egypt Over Suez Canal 1951

The Suez Canal link, between the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, becomes a world hot spot as the Egyptian government vows to oust the British from their control of the Canal granted by the treaty of 1936.

The British reinforce their garrison with troops flown in from Cyprus and other bases, and struggle for control of the Canal continues Terrorist threats and reprisals force English soldiers to work as stevedores, and British guns guard the vital seaway.

I was a National Service Sapper in 50 Field Squadron, 25 Field Engineer Regiment at Moascar and tel el Kabir. Can anyone remember me? Frederick STRUTT called lofty and/or blondie.
