Soyuz 11 Disaster, 1971
For three Russian cosmonauts there was tragedy.
Soyuz 11blasted off June 6. After a record 24 days in space, Cosmonauts Dobrovolski, Volkov, and Patsayev were returning to Earth when their cabin pressure failed. They were given heroes burials at the Cremlin Wall.
