Ronald Reagan: The Hollywood Years

Ronald Reagan graduated in economics and sociology before working as a sports broadcaster at a Des Moines radio station. He came to Hollywood in the 1930s and signed a contract with Warner, playing romantic leads in a long list of films with plaudits for only a few, which include Knute Rockne All American (1940), King’s Row (1942), and The Hasty Heart (1950). After serving with the air force in world war two, involved principally in the making of training material, Reagan became president of the Screen Actors Guild and eventually entered the political arena, becoming governor of California in 1966 and then two-time president of the US.
