The War In Vietnam, 1965
"Operation Piranha," one of the largest operations yet attempted by the US in Vietnam is shown in graphic detail. An amphibious task group of the United States 7th fleet sends an assault force of marines ashore to trap Vietcong troops on the Bantagan Peninsula where South Vietnamese troops have blocked all exits. It is the beginning of a week-long operation which sees some of the fiercest hand-to-hand engagements of the war in which over 200 Vietcong are wiped out, but again proves the difficulty of jungle fighting.
