Oklahoma City Bombing, 1995
On April 19th 1995 a bomb exploded at a federal office building in Oklahoma City. The final death toll was thought to be 167, including nineteen children at the building’s crèche, and over 800 people were injured.
A former soldier, 26-year-old Timothy McVeigh, and a 40-year-old, Terry Nichols were arrested and charged with the bombing. McVeigh was sentenced to death and Nichols to life in prison without parole.
