Vice President Nixon Attacked in Venezuela, 1958

Vice President Nixon and his wife are subjected to a series of Communist inspired anti-U.S. demonstrations during their Latin American tour culminating in mob violence in Venezuela in which stones and clubs are hurled, smashing their car windows.

On their arrival back in Washington D.C. President Eisenhower meets them to congratulate their deportment in a difficult situation and Nixon makes a statement stressing the fact that the problems they encountered were incited by a minority.  Half a million people turn out to cheer the motorcade to the White House.

The voice and caption are completely ignorant of the truth as Nixon was. It's ironic that Nixon told the demonstrators he came with the truth. Nixon knew nothing of the truth and never wanted to know. The US just awarded the prior Venezuelan leader with a medal for his murder and mistreatment of the Venezuelan people. Just go to the library and find out about this and hundreds of other crummy things American regimes have done to the South American people.
