Lucille Ball: Queen Of Comedy
Lucille Ball worked as a model while trying to make it on to the Broadway chorus-line. After she won the role as the Chesterfield Cigarette Girl in 1933, her career took off and she became a Goldwyn Girl, appearing in scores of films.
With several years of performances she earned a reputation as Hollywood's finest female clown, on a par with both Red Skelton and Bob Hope. She met her Cuban husband Desi Arnaz in 1940 and in the 1950s they launched the most successful comedy series in the history of television, I Love Lucy, followed by The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.
