Hollywood Remembers Lauren Bacall

Blessed with the legendary "look", Lauren Bacall entered the world of modelling while appearing on-and-off Broadway and soon became a cover girl.

When Bacall was only 18, Mrs Howard Hawks saw her on in Harper's Bazaar and struck by her looks, showed her photo to her husband. A month later Bacall had a contract with Warner's and made her film debut opposite future husband Humphrey Bacall in the classic To Have and To Have Not (1944). At 21, Bacall married Bogart. Despite the 25-year age difference, they couple smouldered on-screen in The Big Sleep (1946) and Key Largo (1948).
