Despite his meteoric rise to fame, James Dean made only three major films during his short lifetime; East of Eden (1955), Rebel Without a Cause (1955) and Giant (1956).
On September 30, 1955, Dean was involved in a car crash near Salinas, CA that took his life. He was twenty-four years old, and had been a star in Hollywood for only sixteen months.
