Apollo 11 Moon Landing, 1969
The United States space agency NASA achieved the first manned landing on Earth's Moon as part of the Apollo 11 mission commanded by Neil Armstrong.
On July 20, 1969, Armstrong landed the lunar module Eagle on the surface of the Moon. Armstrong was the first man on the moon, shortly followed by Buzz Aldrin. The astronauts spent a day on the surface of the Moon before returning to Earth.
