Hollywood Remembers Elizabeth Taylor
Elizabeth Taylor was born in London in 1932 to American parents. Making her first Royal performance aged three, she showed star quality from an early age. She returned to the USA when war broke out and attracted studio scouts at the age of ten. Taylor graduated seamlessly from child star to leading lady.
She married three times before her fateful meeting with Richard Burton, but made four of her best films over this period. Raintree Country (1957), Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (1958) and Suddenly Last Summer (1959) gained her Oscar nominations and an Oscar for Butterfield Eight (1960).
