Long-term lover Sandra Locke and Clint Eastwood co-starred in The Gauntlet (1977), Every Which Way but Loose (1978) and Any Which Way You Can (1980) and engaged in open affair whilst he was married to long-time wife Maggie Johnson.
Eastwood's 27-year-old marriage collapsed in 1980 and Locke and Eastwood's romance continued over several joint ventures. Whilst the relationship came to a messy end, Clintwood enjoyed a brief political career as mayor of Carmel (1986-88).
