Clint Eastwood: Star Power

Clint Eastwood began life drifting with his father from town to town in search of work during the Depression. After playing the young cowboy hero in long-running TV show Rawhide, he proceeded to star status in Sergio Leone's spaghetti western trilogy.

He earned extra kudos as the tight-lipped anti-hero in Don Siegel's Dirty Harry (1971) and reprised the role over four sequels. Long-term lover Sandra Locke and Eastwood co-starred in The Gauntlet (1977), Every Which Way but Loose (1978) and finally inĀ Any Which Way You Can (1980) engaging in open affair whilst he was married to long-time wife Maggie Johnson.
