Hollywood Couples: Burt Reynolds and Loni Anderson

John Boorman's 1972 film Deliverance helped Burt Reynolds make the big time and he followed up with a whole host of virile leading roles in film: Hooper, Smokey and the Bandit and The Cannonball Run.

Loni Anderson was born in 1945 in Minnesota. Predominantly a TV actress, she played the title role in The Jayne Mansfield Story in 1980 and married Burt Reynolds in 1988. In 1990 she appeared in one of his B.L. Stryker movies, but by 1993 their marriage was over. Their divorce hit the headlines in one of Hollywood's uglier splits.
