William Jefferson “Bill” Clinton became the 42nd President of the United States on January 20th 1993. The former Governor of Arkansas won the presidential election, ahead of incumbent George Bush and independent Ross Perot, on a platform focusing on domestic issues.
Outgoing President Bush left for Texas with his wife Barbara as President Clinton, wife Hillary, daughter Chelsea and cat, Socks took over residency of the White House.
