Hollywood Remembers Ann-Marget
Swedish-born Ann-Margaret was brought to the US aged five. She made her film debut as Bette Davis' daughter in Pocketful of Miracles (1961). Her career for the next decade was characterised by roles in song-and-dance films made for the teen-market. That changed, however, in 1971. She turned the critics' opinions of her around with her Oscar-nominated role in Carnal Knowledge.
Parallel to her work in film, Ann-Margret also topped the bill as a cabaret star in Las Vegas. Ann-Margaret fought her way back to the top after a near fatal accident in 1972, winning a second Oscar nomination for Tommy in 1975.
