New Yorker Alec Baldwin, brother of actors Daniel, Stephen and William studied at George Washington University, New York University. The second of six children, he started out in TV soap opera by day and theatre by night, making his film debut in 1987. Good-looking, gifted, intelligent and versatile, he played leading man to then-wife Kim Basinger in just one film, The Getaway in 1994.
The sultry leading lady, a former Playboy model and Bond girl, appeared opposite Mickey O'Rourke in controversial film 9½ Weeks (1986) in a destructive sado-masochistic relationship.
